Does anyone else have problems with eating sweets? My goodness. I've tried to stop this week because I am completely out of control with it. I didn't have any for a few days, then for 2 days in a row I talked myself into eating a few treats. Then last night we were at a corn feed for my brother's ward and somehow I managed to stay away from all of the yummy treats. And now for today...I want a treat right now I can't stand it! THat's why I thought I'd write about it here to get support from other sugar addicts. :)
Anyone have any suggestions on how to be better with it?

I wish I knew the answer! Lately I have been trying to be better. I don't make cookies or other sweets as often and if I do buy cookies or candy I keep them on a higher shelf in my pantry so I don't see them all the time.

are you prego? haha maybe thats why you have a craving. :) just kidding.
If that were the case (which it's not), then I would be pregnant pretty much every day of my life since I can remember - cuz that's how often I crave sweets!
You could fake yourself out...make cookies with wheat flour instead of white; applesauce instead of oil, etc. or make muffins with bananas, zucchini and/or pumpkin - you know, that sort of thing. And buy dark chocolate - its supposed to be good for you, and I guarantee you won't eat a whole bag of it in one sitting:)
I'm having issues with sweets, too - but I AM pregnant:)
I wish I had a suggestion for you. I have completely succumbed to my sugar cravings....
Hi Amy!
It's Andrea....I just had to say I'm with ya on the treats. I've been out of control this summer -- but I've loved it....especially the ice cream. Just when I think I'm off chocolate...Halloween is right around the corner.
Sorry I can't be of more help....just know that there are many of us sugar addicts out there. : )
Just give in. Don't resist. Life is too short to not eat chocolate.
Great advice from a fitness instructor, huh?
Sorry dearie, I think it's a genetic thing and I have a pretty good suspicion that it didn't come from your Dad. Remember your grandma raiding the ice cream stach very late at night when she lived with us? WW doesn't take late night ice cream raids into account.
I think this is an addiction you can just try to taper down slowly. After all, you don't want to suffer a sugar-less collapse or some awful attack like that.
The problem with surgar free things is they usually taste pretty terrible!
My opinion anyway!
Good luck with your valiant efforts. Love you...
Chew a sugarless gum. My favorite is a spicy cinnamon gum, that seems to take away the craving of sweets and also before the gum drink a huge glass of water. That will fill your stomach up and take most of the craving away and then the gum will help a lot.
If you are not a gum chewer, then try brushing your teeth and tongue. That will for sure take the sweet craving away.
