B-day gifts

My wife is the best!! She has good taste, I think. She got me this great shirt and a number of other awesome gifts, such as new Reef flip flops. In all, I had a wonderful birthday, thanks to my wife, my family, and friends.

The Chantrys

Matt and Joy Chantry - they live 3 doors down from us and have become great friends of ours. Matt and I get up at 6:00 am every morning (Monday-Friday) and hike up the mountain for an hour and a half. It's a lot of fun.

The Campsite

This isn't my perfect idea of a campsite, but it's what the girls could handle. Joy is exhibiting how she felt that whole week - with a cold. The fire is just gettting going. We cooked up the best tin foil dinners I have evern eaten. I did a great job on them, if I do say so myself.

Fishing

The fishing on Payson Lake wasn't near as good as it is made out to be. We fished that Monday night for 2 hours and then 2 hours in the morning before we left on Tuesday. I caught a total of 3 fish - none much larger than the one in this picture. Still it was fun. Matt was skunked - ha ha ha. We love to fish and usually spend our time fishing the Provo River, a Blue Ribon trout river. This fish here is nothing to what we catch in Utah lake and in the Provo River.

Blowing out the Candles

MMMM....Carrot Cake. My wonderful wife made me my mom'c recipe of carriot cake with cream cheese frosting. It is sooooo good!! Here is the one candle. They figured it is the only candle I could handle blowing out. They should know I have much more air in my head than that.

Adam's B-Day

Well, back to Payson Lake. This time, for Adam's B-day (August 8) and with our friends, Matt and Joy. Here, Matt and I are sitting on a large log in the middle of the lake. We pushed/paddled the dumb log all the way across and back. It was fun - further than you'd think. We measured on a mapping program and found it was about 1/2 a mile. Well, Matt and I could both benefit from more exercise like this.
