Our Garden

So, a neighbor owns a 5 acre lot a block away from our home and decided to let people who wanted, grow a garden in an enclosed area on the lot. So, I took him up on it, along with 3 others. I have about 300 square feet and am growing beets, onions, peppers, tomatoes, corn, squash, and cucumbers. It is located right behind the Carpenter Seed store located on the old State Street in Provo. Since these pictures were taken, I have staked up more of the tomatoes and weeded the onions. Notice I used two old stool bases for the tomatoes. They were $1 each at DI, which is about $3 cheaper than the wire cages at a store. Nice, eh?! It is fun to have a garden to take care of, but sometimes hard to take the time to water and care for it. Still, worth it.

Amy, how fun to have a garden. That reminds me of when we lived in Boston and people would rent tiny little plots like 5ftx5ft and grow little flower gardens that were open for the public to walk through. It was really nice to feel like you were out of the city for a bit. I haven't talked to you in forever. I'll send you an email. Your kiddo's are super cute! ~Nicole

Wow Adam! We are so impressed with your gardening skills. It looks great, so organized and "growing". And you even have the tomatoes!
Nate will be proud also.
Love you guys...

Great garden! I'm really impressed! Our garden doesn't look that good at all!

I think I'll come over and eat with you guys -- looks great. There's nothing like fresh vegetables coming straight from the garden to your table -- especially in light of all the salmonella junk that's been going on with produce.
Good for you guys!

Awesome Adam and Amy! I am impressed and the late afternoon sun in the pictures added a nice dose of tranquility as well. Your soil looks really healthy and I like how you have everything in raised beds. I bet you can grow some great tomatoes and corn in that Utah heat over there!
